Privacy Policy

Who we are
This website, bilked.co.uk, is run by The Metavision Multimedia Ltd, the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are registered in England & Wales under company number 16282479. Our address is 5th Floor, 167-169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF.
For any privacy question or request, email contact@bilked.co.uk.
What we collect
When you sign up to the Bilked newsletter we collect:
- your email address (required)
- your first name, if you choose to give it
Our email provider also records basic information about the emails we send you, such as when you subscribed and whether an email was delivered or opened.
If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, the subject and your message so we can reply to you.
Why we use it
We use your newsletter details only to send you the Bilked newsletter: news about the show, new episodes and behind-the-scenes updates from SOS Cabs. If you gave us your first name, we use it to personalise those emails. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Our legal basis for the newsletter is your consent, which you give when you subscribe and can withdraw at any time. For contact form messages, our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you send us.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of trusted providers who handle data on our behalf, under contract:
- MailerLite stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails.
- Netlify hosts this website and runs the forms that pass your details to MailerLite.
- Resend delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or standard contractual clauses.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a regulator or law enforcement.
Cookies and the Meta Pixel
This website can use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which sets cookies (such as _fbp) and sends
information about your visit, such as the pages you view, to Meta. We use it to understand how people find
the site and to measure our social media promotion of the show. Meta handles this data under its own
privacy policy.
The Meta Pixel only loads if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner. Until you do, and if you choose “Reject all”, nothing is loaded from Meta and no Pixel cookies are set. Our legal basis for the Pixel is your consent.
We store your choice in one cookie of our own, bilked_consent, for 6 months, so we don’t ask
on every page. This cookie is strictly necessary to remember your choice and is set whichever option you pick.
After 6 months we ask again.
Changing your mind: you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the Pixel stops loading from your next page view and we delete the Meta Pixel cookies set on this site. You can also adjust your Meta ad preferences.
How long we keep it
We keep your newsletter details until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you straight away and remove your details from our active mailing list. We may keep your email address on a suppression list so that we can make sure we never email you again by mistake.
We keep contact form messages only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.
How to unsubscribe
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click removes you. You can also email contact@bilked.co.uk and ask us to remove you.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- erase your data
- restrict how we use your data
- object to us using your data
- data portability, meaning a copy of your data in a commonly used format
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it
To use any of these rights, email contact@bilked.co.uk. We aim to respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
The newsletter is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
