Meet The Characters
The colourful cast that brings Bilked to life
The Drivers
Ellis Carter
As an ex 18-30 rep on the Costa Del Sol, Ellis ended up as a cabbie after blowing a £4million lottery win. Funny, good looking and charming he enjoys being single but secretly envies the stability of a family life that best pal Mick has.
Mick Ford
With a fuse shorter than a gnats genitalia, Mick is best mates with Ellis. Many years ago he did security work for the owners of SOS Cabs, the Devlins. A dedicated family man, he perseveres with the job for the sake of missus Carrie and two kids Buster & Lola.
Len Potter
If you were to look up the definition of gentleman in the dictionary, a picture of Len would accompany it. Originally a cabbie up town, he has spent the last 7 years working the local circuit as he winds down to retirement in the sunny realms of Benidorm with his soulmate of the past 45 years, wife Linda.
Mark Ferris "Ketchup"
Married to childhood sweetheart Joanne, Ketchup is an avid West Ham fan and named his only son after the legendary Bobby Moore. His nickname was acquired from his lack of sexual morals and willingness to sleep with anything female that has a pulse.
Martin Sutcliffe
Without doubt the strangest driver on the circuit is Martin Sutcliffe. Socially awkward with hygiene only a skunk would be proud of, his inappropriate behaviour around the female clientele has left him on a final warning with the local Hackney Carriage Office. He lives with his mum in a mobile home on Canvey Island.
Terry Simpson "Google"
As the longest serving driver on the firm and dressed like an extra from a John Wayne western, the 'Google' nickname comes from having an opinion on everything which he loves to share with you even if you haven't asked for it. The confines of a taxi cab gives him the perfect soap box for the captive audience.
Toni Smallwood
After leaving the Army, Toni got involved in the cabs through training at the same gym as Mick. In her spare time she plays prop forward for Southend Sabres and is a keen arm wrestler, competing in tournaments across the country. Unlucky in love, she has a soft spot for April in the office.
Kobi Masinga
As the newest driver on the firm fitness fanatic Kobi, takes time to adjust to his new role. Outside of work he can be found in the gym or helping out at the local community centre, where he teaches parkour to the children from the nearby estate.
The Devlins
Dee Devlin
As the matriarch of the family Dee is not a woman to be messed with. She has been known to make many a hard man soil himself with her ice cold stare. Glamourous and immaculately presented, she spends most of her time living in Marbella where she owns a VIP beach resort.
Danny Devlin
With mum Dee spending the majority of her time in sunnier climates the day to day running of SOS Cabs and the Devlin's other business interests rests with Danny. Sharply dressed with an aura that oozes charisma, he epitomises the image of a 4th generation East End gangster.
Damian Devlin
Slightly unhinged with an over reliance on the Bolivian marching powder, Damian plays a less active role in the family business dealings than twin brother Danny. The gangster image he aspires to is more East Side than East End as he strives to carve out a career as a Hip Hop MC.
The Office & Locals
April White
Partial to a Greggs or 2, Geordie lass April White re-located down Saaf after meeting boyfriend Maff on a Spanish Holiday 3 years ago. Unfortunately he is now holed up at Her Majesty's Pleasure so to make ends meet she supplements her income from SOS Cabs with a sideline business as a Webcam girl.
Francesco Del Piero
Originally Colin Brown the plasterer from Basildon, Francesco Del Piero was born out of a lost weekend at Creamfields in the late 90's. Having spent years working cruise ships as a Holistic Therapist, Francesco returned to his roots together with husband Emilio and their beloved pet chihuahua Jimmy Choo.
Attan Aydin
Once a prominent member of the PKK, a militia group fighting for increased human rights for Kurds within Turkey, Attan moved to England ten years ago and set up his own takeaway business in Southend-on-Sea. He still struggles with the language and has an outwardly aggressive nature even when trying to be nice.
Umar Yilmaz
As Attan's loyal and trusty sidekick at Eat My Meat, Umar often finds himself on the receiving end of his bosses rants. Being of a simple disposition he finds comfort in a diet of fizzy drinks and leftover kebabs. He is an avid online gamer and all his friendships exist via a gaming console and headset.
